HAREN | De tijd vliegt: De vertrouwde service van De Smid is alweer 6 jaar terug als Electro World De Smid in Haren. En de klantenkring blijft groeien, vertelt de trotse ondernemer Ronald Loeffen.

“Dat heeft alles te maken met duidelijke keuzes. De klant van nu verwacht in de winkel een goed advies, een passend product, oplossingsgerichtheid en een perfecte aftersales. Ook is er in onze winkel een open verbinding met De Smid Lifestyle waar je een verlichtingswinkel, tuinmeubelen en fietsen vindt: Een echte belevenis winkel waar klanten graag rondshoppen.”

Elk jaar verandert er wel iets in de winkel zodat de klant verrast blijft worden.
Loeffen: “In de afgelopen 6 jaar is er bijvoorbeeld een extra keukenwand geplaatst voor een groter aanbod van inbouwapparatuur en is er een nieuwe Sonos-wand. Ook aan de buitenkant van het pand zijn we bezig. Zo moet je constant in blijven spelen op de wensen van je klant en de markt. Daarbij moeten we ook keuzes maken want er zijn honderden artikelen op onze webshop die we natuurlijk nooit allemaal in de winkel kunnen plaatsen.”

Volgens Loeffen klinkt zijn verhaal en de service die hij levert soms misschien als een open deur.
“Maar het gaat erom dat je dat ook echt waarmaakt. Het zijn ook vaak de kleine dingen die het hem doen. Als wij bijvoorbeeld worden gebeld door een klant omdat zijn tv niet meer werkt, dan rijden we desnoods op de terugweg naar huis nog even langs, om het probleem direct op te lossen. Voor ons een kleinigheidje, voor de klant een groot plezier. Ook voor installatie en ophangen van tv en audio leveren we maatwerk indien nodig.”

De prijzen in de winkel verschillen vaak niets met de bekende online aanbieders.
“De klant kiest bewust voor een bezoek aan de winkel waar hij het product kan voelen en zien, en wil weten of dit apparaat bij zijn wensen past. Wij willen dat als de klant naar huis gaat hij echt blij is met zijn aankoop en de hulp die hij daarbij heeft gekregen.”

Elektronica-ketens hebben het moeilijk. Onlangs nog ging BCC failliet. Lokale winkels houden zich wel staande.
“Onze toegevoegde waarde maakt het verschil. De lijntjes zijn kort en de klant heeft direct contact met diegene die hem geholpen heeft. Met een eigen technische dienst en installatieservice zijn we ook in staat meer te bieden. Ik had graag gezien dat BCC gewoon was blijven bestaan, ook voor de werknemers. Met zo’n winkel in de buurt kan de klant zijn eigen keuzes maken. Wij varen alweer 6 jaar onze eigen koers en dat blijkt uiterst succesvol.”

Ronald besluit met:
“De koffie staat altijd bij ons klaar en je kunt voor de deur parkeren. Steeds meer nieuwe klanten en klanten uit het verleden weten de weg naar De Smid aan de Lietingstraat 23 in Haren te vinden en dat is niet voor niets.”
